first baby i ever loved, saw her responding to music when she was 3 months old & thought she was miraculous. taught her to recite whitman's "captain, my captain" when she was 4. she's 16 now, & she gets more & more miraculous every day.
O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done; The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won; The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting, While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring: But O heart! heart! heart! O the bleeding drops of red, Where on the deck my Captain lies, Fallen cold and dead.
I remember being taught those words at such a tender age.It did kinda interest people when I'd stand up at 4 and recite it.
sweetie- just being you, regardless of your many talents, is more interesting than most people ever are! but i do have to admit i loved it when you stood your tiny self on a chair and belted it out! :^) xo, dawna
I'm a cook. And I write, sometimes about food, mostly poems. I make stuff. I get lost. I'm worried about vanishing bees, melting icecaps, the decrease of civility in the world, seedless watermelons, and whether there will be enough time for me to get it all right.
