said history is our grandmothers & aunts & brothers...it's how we understand ourselves. found out she's entirely self-taught, she was tiny when she started on the piano, which her mother thought of as furniture. her smile illuminates the whole dark place.

I'm a huge fan.
Indigo: me too!!! when I found out last monday aternoon @ 2pm that I had the opportunity to meet, interview and photograph her if i could get from LA to san diego by 5:30, I set a personal record for getting out of the house...less than ten minutes! It was a total blast, and not only did i get to talk to her with my best friend for an hour, (got a 30 minute private concert while they did the sound check)got to see her show, from the front row, directly in front of the microphone! She is so smart & nice & full of spirit & heart! I'll be gushing about this for a very long time, and I gushed to her too...told her I knew I should be professional (though I'm not!) but that I couldn't live with myself if I didn't tell her how much her music has meant to me. Anyway, it was once in a lifetime material!
