she & uncle tom took me when i was "incorrigible." told her when I was 10 that i wasn't getting married until i was 30...she didn't believe it, & made me write it & sign my name & date in her family bible.
well, it was a draw, really. i never officially, legally married (yet) but had an 11 year significant other who my family considered me "married"to. (it felt married, and it felt like getting a divorce when we split up) Auntie Ann (who, bless her heart, is born again) hated the lack of religious & legal paperwork, and so, conceded that i'd made an accurate prediction as a 10 year old.
I'm a cook. And I write, sometimes about food, mostly poems. I make stuff. I get lost. I'm worried about vanishing bees, melting icecaps, the decrease of civility in the world, seedless watermelons, and whether there will be enough time for me to get it all right.

And did you stay true to your word? And what did Auntie Ann say?
